This institution which budded with just three young students in the year 1989 , now when completing 24 years has nurtured in to a reputed centre for dance studies in Thiruvananthapuram .Traditional dance forms embedded in the strict classical moorings are taught here with rigid disciple by Guru Sri. G. Sanil Kumar the founder of Sree Nataraj Dance Academy, Institution of South Indian Classical and Folk Dance forms. A task master with uncompromising approach to classical dance forms, Sri. G.Sanil Kumar believes in upbringing young talents to the fore front. Here those students who aspire to take up dancing seriously are given professional tutelage.
Different art disciplines are under taken by proficient teachers of Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Kathakali, and Ottanthullal. Many talent dance students from Sree Nataraj Dance Academy have been acclaimed for their memorable achievements in the school/college and youth festivals organized in the state and national levels. Many of them received coveted tittles 'Kalaprathibha &Kalathilakam', individual championships, scholarships etc from various organizations, forums etc.
Guru Sri. G.Sanil Kumar is soul supported by his wife Smt. Jisha Sanil an alumni of the world reputed Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts Kalakshetra Chennai. Smt. Jisha Sanil has been the former student and teacher of her alma mater Kalakshetra. This abounding experience has contributed to the new choreographic works of Nataraj Dance Academy successfully to the art lovers and Sahridayas. The creative works include literary works of popular poets and writers works like 'Ardhanari Thandava, Ravanasura Bhakti, Sadheerthya Pranamam, Parijatha Pushpapaharanam', are some of the popular dance dramas of the Academy.
Many students of this academy continue to give complete dance recitals in and out of Kerala, for different organization and other platforms. The couple tourch bearer, Guru G.Sanil Kumar and Jisha Sanil has registered the institution under the charitable Society act and is favoured by Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy for its social commitments. A talented lot from economically under privileged backgrounds are trained and encouraged in this academy. This couple believes in the earnest motive of handling over (to the new generation) of this divine disciple without any dilution.

Guru G. Sanil Kumar
G.Sanil Kumar is trained under respectable gurus as Smt.Kalamandalam Vimala Menon, Sri.Jaya Santhanam (Chennai) (Vazhavoor Style) & Sri Raj Kumar Kalakshetra (Chennai).He has exquisite learning experience in Kuchipudi under Sathya Priya Ramana, the senior disciple of Dr.Vempati Chinna Satyam. Sanil Kumar is soul interested of imparting training for the new aspirants, lead him to establish the institution, Sree Nataraj Dance Academy in 1989.Sanil Kumar has varied talents and interest in the folk style and regional performing Arts. Smt.Jisha Sanil is an impeccable performer. Jisha is also skilled to do Singing & Nattuvangam simultaneously. She has a penchant to design Costumes aesthetically.
